In this role you will initiate direct sales calls on account headquarters and lines of business for the assigned accounts.

Portfolio size ranges from $30m and $50m annually.

Additional responsibilities include: Formulating and negotiating pricing and program contracts for assigned accounts Developing and maintaining account plans outlining strategic and tactical developmental efforts within each account Executing frequent calls on customers to build relationships and/or to resolve problems.

Effectively communicate account initiatives and execution plans to the DSD field sales teams and management Support field sales team with key local customer events and problem resolution when necessary Provide insight and/or lead the analytics trade and reporting that support the strategic business needs Assist with the development and training of the field sales organization for contract management Assist in the planning, development, administration and monitoring the effectiveness of promotional programs Maintain current customer files and pertinent database information on all accounts Compiles all required reports on a timely basis including sales projections, product sales results, expenses, trade shows etc.

Assist management in the research and development of new products /processes suitable for accounts Supports the organization in areas of product knowledge, promotional knowledge, sales performance reports, industry information and marketing plan development and execution Responsible to conduct yourself in a manner consistent with company mission values code of ethics policies and other standards of conduct.

The ideal candidate will have: General management competencies around leadership, Joint Business Planning, retail operational excellence, and developing/implementing strategy Expertise with Albertsons East Banners (Shaw’s, ACME & Safeway East) Expertisein Wakefern Cooperative business model Ability to understand and apply internal and external business drivers and metrics to product profitable business results Demonstrated ability to achieve consistent results Proven past development of relationships within multiple departments and levels within each customer Ability to build mutually beneficial Joint Business Plans that deliver against the customer needs and priorities, as well as Schwan’s key objectives Ability to thrive in a synergistic environment by working cross functionally with supporting teams to deliver results that some may feel are impossible Develop new, more efficient processes and ways to manage the business Advanced use of syndicated data databases such as IRI and customer portals Ability to access and utilize shopper, category and department insights Confident communicator with an ability to interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds Education: 4 Year Bachelor ’ s degree or equivalent, MBA is preferred Years of Related Experience: Minimum of 7 years with CPG company in Sales and a demonstrated history of career progression Customer Experience: Shaw’s, ACME, Safeway East and Wakefern Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Competent in evaluating and interpreting primary and secondary research results and financial information Competent in understanding food service industry market channels, manufacturing environments and multiple sales and distribution systems Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures and/or government regulations Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference Ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations Ability to develop and work within budgets.
