Job DetailsDescriptionJOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for supervising all facets of the cleaning and sanitation process for the Breaking or Pre-cooked departments efficiently and within budgetary constraints.Develop, maintain, and audit sanitation SOPs for equipment and areas.Performs sanitation inspections to ensure that SOP’s are followed properly.Assist in root cause analysis to identify and eliminate sanitation deficiencies.Monitor employee GMP and HACCP program to maintain company and USDA requirements.Responsible for daily employee scheduling to meet minimum man hour sanitation requirements.Responsible for providing complete training of all employees for proper sanitation procedures, safety procedures, Lock Out-Tag Out, emergency evacuation, PPE, HAZCOM, etc.Reviews daily sanitation documentation and checklists.Resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.Enforce Company policies in a fair and consistent manner.Provide a safe working environment for all personnel.Expected to adhere to safe work practices becoming of a VPP Star worksite, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained in order to maintain SQF Level 3 certification.

Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.May make decisions and perform the job responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Manager in their absence.Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.REASONING ABILITY:Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:Examples of licenses, certificates, and registrations required: Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification, 2.

Confined Space Entry OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Specific skills and abilities required that are not included in other sections: Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Biology, Management or related field and 3 years’ experience supervising employees in a manufacturing environment (preferably in Sanitation) or an equivalent amount of education and experience to effectively complete the essential functions of the job.Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with others.Ability to prioritize and follow directions with little/no supervision.Ability to recognize problem situations, and take the appropriate steps to resolve in a timely manner.Must have the ability to do multi-functional tasks and perform them simultaneously.Strong organizational and mechanical skills are essential.Ability to train and motivate employees.Ability to use Microsoft Office effectively.Customer service capabilities.Basic computer skills with ability to input data into the SAP systemLight typing skills.Ability to work indoors in normal office setting for duration of shift.Ability to answer phones and receive pertinent information.
