Maintenance and Engineering Manager

Location: Jim Thorpe, PA Description: Our client is currently seeking a Maintenance and Engineering Manager to maintain their facilities not far from Jim Thorpe, PA. This job will have the following responsibilities: Responsible for the maintenance and development of facilities, equipment, and systems within a 3pl facility Responsible for scheduling and assigning tasks and daily objectives to members of the maintenance and engineering teams as well as the sanitation team members and contractors. Safety is a number 1 priority so making sure SOP’s and safety protocols are updated or created is paramount. Responsible for taking care of the fire systems and all paperwork, internal and external audits of those systems and equipment. Responsible for the ammonia refrigeration system, inspections and documentation as well as evacuation procedures Maintains current Lock Out Tag Out and MSDS information. Responsible for training the management staff on emergency response, including individual roles and responsibilities. Responsible to develop procedures and train with fire department Responsible for keeping the facility neat and cleanly. This includes all office and warehousing environments Responsible for pest management and maintaining records and data to use in the reduction of pest incidents Responsible for a large portion of the annual budget and therefore expenses. This role drives towards reducing costs and controlling costs where possible. Assists in the annual preparation of the budget documentation. Purchasing of building materials, tools, fuel, etc., to be approved annually by the General Manager prior to purchase. Any variances to the budget are explained and requested prior to purchasing. Responsible for the entire forklift fleet. This includes contractor management, developing procedures and training procedures to meet ANSI and OSHA requirements, auditing the processes to verify compliance, and reducing downtime. Scheduling and verifying that preventative maintenance projects are being completed and recorded also that pm’s are performed throughout entire facility. Expected to keep logs for these tasks. This position is on call 24/7, 365, and as a result is responsible for keeping the facility running regardless of poor conditions such as snow, rain, ice, power outages, ect. Must be able to resolve projects with minimum direction quickly and efficiently. Must develop and maintain inventory of required regularly used parts. Must be able to work outside of normal hours as needed Qualifications & Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field highly desired 5 years of experience in a Facility Management Role with a proven track record of similar duties. Must be experienced with electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, pneumatics and hydraulics, welding, light fork-lift, or machine repairs, etc Must have a strong knowledge of national standards that relate to facility management Strong communication skills both orally and written required. Must be able to maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times Work requires significant attention to detail in safety, recording, logging, and inspecting Must have demonstrated ability to use a variety of computer software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, Autocad, email, and internet Contact: This job and many more are available through The Judge Group.
