Community Services for Children, Inc. (CSC) is seeking a highly professional individual with a strong professional development background for a rewarding career as the Assistant Director of Professional Development. The position is responsible for the development and implementation of procedures and programs that ensure that each employee develops the knowledge, skills, and expertise necessary to fulfill their job responsibilities. Responsibilities include professional development, organization development and employee engagement. We are a large, well-established, high performing organization located in the heart of the Lehigh Valley. Work Environment:
Community Services for Children requires all staff members provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of employment. We want to create the safest workplace possible and protect children and families. This is also necessary in order to comply with President Biden’s mandated vaccination guidance for all Head Start/Early Head Start programs. Candidates who are selected for this position will have to meet the COVID-19 vaccination condition of employment.

A $1,000 monetary incentive will be paid to newly employed Community Services for Children staff members who start work after June 1, 2021. The payout will be paid upon successful completion of probation.
Community Services for Children is offering a onetime $75 COVID-19 vaccination incentive for newly hired staff members who are able to show proof of receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. The payout will be paid upon successful completion of probation.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage the daily operations of the Professional Development Department by implementing leading edge technology and forward thinking.
  • Responsible for developing and delivering new employee orientation program to provide a welcome and introduction into the agency, utilizing multi-media and on-line approaches.
  • Responsible for Developing and implement leadership development program that will assist staff members with developing leadership and managerial expertise.
  • Develop and deliver a three-day leadership training orientation for newly hired and promoted Managers.
  • Responsible for delivering an organizational mentoring program that encompass strategic planning to increase knowledge and build skills for future goals and milestones.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Professional Development Manager and trainer.
  • Prior history of professional organization.
  • Previous experience in instructional design and technology.
  • Demonstrated competence in management and supervision.
  • Strong communication, organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and writing skills.
