Inside Sales Representative

Position Summary: The Inside Sales Representative will be responsible for providing qualified leads and generating new appointments to help the company achieve sales targets and to improve profitability. The work location for our Inside Sales Representative will be in the West End of Pittsburgh. Our Inside Sales Representative is often required to work independently.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Provide qualified leads and schedule appointments for the sales team to generate new business.
  • Follow up on BKS marketing campaigns.
  • Place follow-up calls or e-mails after attending networking events (by self or business development representative).
  • Accurately maintain and update records in our CRM system (Pipe Drive). This includes recording a future date activity in the CRM for when it would be appropriate to follow-up on sales prospects.
  • Generate new sales leads by making telephone calls to prospective clients who have responded to Black Knight Security marketing campaigns.
  • Engage and interact with prospective clients and senior level decision makers to identify new and emerging business opportunities.
  • Build effective relationships with potential clients and existing customers by use of industry standard targeted questions.
  • Speak positively and enthusiastically about Black Knight Security and its products and services to ensure that a professional company and brand image are provided to customers and colleagues.
  • Perform basic research on prospective clients to ensure that they meet Black Knight Security client objectives.
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with customers by telephone and email. Build positive relationships with clients.
  • Respond appropriately to questions received via the telephone and/or email and provide timely responses.
  • Systems updating and reporting to include maintaining CRM system, identifying renewal opportunities, and providing management with various reports.

Additional Job Duties

  • Stay abreast of changing security industry trends.
  • Support the Black Knight Security customer service strategy of providing professional and effective services to all customers.
  • Monitor upcoming networking events that would be beneficial for our sales team to attend.
  • Identify buyer portals that the company can register to get pre-approved as a vendor and added to their bidder list.
  • Attend Growth Committee Meetings.
  • Prepare reporting packet for Growth Committee.
  • Monitor how the company is viewed on Google.
  • Monitor Google Reviews and alert sales manager/supervisor to any new negative reviews.
  • Make recommended changes or improvements to the company web site when appropriate.
  • Other duties requested by management.

Required Education

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

Required Skills / Experience

  • Minimum 12 months relevant experience including sales, lead generation, and/or responding to telephone queries.
  • Take responsibility for your own personal development in line with agreed upon annual performance objectives.
  • Possess a working knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic data entry into a CRM system.
  • Possess well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Skilled at identifying smokescreens, overcoming the gatekeeper, identifying decision makers, and identifying and understanding objections.

Preferred Skills / Experience

  • Telemarketing experience in the private security industry is a plus.
  • Able to post industry-specific content to company social media sites such as Facebook and LinkedIn
