Simulation Applications Engineer- Power Industry

Based in our Pittsburgh, PA location, you will be a part of the Simulation Projects group which supports delivery of Digital Transformation projects with a main focus on operator training simulators.AS A SIMULATION ENGINEER YOU WILL:* Gather technical equipment specifications from vendor manuals and diagrams* Work with new technology and create soutions on how best to increase plant performance / productivty in all levels of activity for Power Plant equipment and processes* Apply knowledge in Power Plant industry and technology tools such as simulation along with standard project management practices (Initiation, Planning, Executing, Monitoring and Controlling, and Closing) to support the installation and application of a digital transformation project which can be anything from a simulator to another device to increase a power plants performance* Apply knowledge of power plant controls logic, operation procedures and expected plant performance to present how technology can be used to increase customers overall production and efficiency* Develop methods that allow several individual technologies to be connected and untilized to create an environment conducive to training or optimizing power plant operators and their processes* Need to comprehend power plant controls logic and operations based on real world evidenceWHO YOU ARE:You establish and maintain effective customer relationships.

You provide timely and helpful information to individuals across the organization.REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:* Bachelors Degree in Engineering required (Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred)* Minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience, power industry experience highly preferred* Proven track record of managing and working with staff from multiple backgrounds and locations to provide solutions in a timely manner* Strong technical writing skills* Good communication, computer, presentation and interpersonal skills* Exceptional organization skills and ability to manage complex projects* High level of competency in programming languages such as Java, C , Fortan, PHP, XML, preferred* Includes up to 25% travel* Legal authorization to work in the United StatesPREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:* Background in utilizing technology to forumlate industry solutionsWHY EMERSON?Our Commitment to Our PeopleWe invest in our employees to ensure they have the marketplace knowledge, skills and competencies to compete and lead in a global economy.
