Page ImageImage CaptionPage ContentJOB DESCRIPTIONSummary/Objective Reporting to the Site or Facility Manager, the Laborer fills a varied role that includes construction activities on bulk propane storage installations, steel tank refurbishment, and general grounds repair and maintenance.Essential FunctionsThe responsibilities of the Laborer include, but are not limited to: Construction Install and verify operation of piping, valves, meters and related storage equipment.Refurbishment and preparation of steel tanks including pressure washing, media blasting, priming and paintingMaintain serviceability and repair of company’s assets including property, vehicles and tooling.Manage and organize parts inventoryDrive service vehicle to various locationsRepair and maintain tools and equipmentMaintain an adequate inventory of supplies and materials for operations assignedComplete logs, reports, work orders, requisitions, and other records and communications as requiredWork as a team member to carry out project requirements.Read and interpret project plans and specificationsOperate heavy equipment and other construction duties as necessaryMust ensure a solid understanding of and compliance with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics.

Other duties as assignedSafety Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, sub-contractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.

Participate in daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections.

Observe safe work plans/hazard assessments with crew prior to job commencement.

Work with Safety Department to investigate damage, incidents or near misses in the worksite, and ensure proper procedures are carried out according to the Company’s Safety Program.

Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.

Teamwork Participate as a vital team member, and contribute towards the success of the organization, which may involve the provision of other technical and administrative support, as required.

Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas.

Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required.

to 3:30 p.M.

This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.Required Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GEDGood written and oral communication skills.The ability to work both independently and in a team environment.Good mechanical aptitude.Preferred Education and ExperienceA background in propane or related construction activities.Basic Knowledge of propane and related equipment.Completed basic CETP (Certified Employee Training Program) or equivalent propane industry training.Additional Eligibility QualificationsAbility to lift loads up to 50lbs, traverse construction sites, climb stairs and ladders, and enter confined spaces.Ability to work in the elements and in environments containing:Chemical Factors: Dust, Fumes.Physical Factors: Attention to safety; High Voltage and Ionizing Radiation; Personal Protection Equipment: Eye/face, Foot, Hand, Hearing Protection and Respirators if required.Work Authorization/Security Clearance None.Other DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
