EMD Performance Materials is a business of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany.Your Role:As a Controls Engineer at EMD Performance Materials, you will develop equipment network communication applications for Delivery Systems and Services products (GASGUARD, CHEMGUARD, and POLYFLOW). Our products are used globally in the Semiconductor industry to supply hazardous gases and chemicals. Working across a variety of platforms and technologies depending on project needs; everything from new product development, sustaining support for legacy products, provide technical support for Field Service engineers and Quality Technicians in all regions. You do not need to be an expert in all these areas but should be comfortable wearing different hats and willing to learn new technologies as needed.Work as part of a cross-functional project team of product managers, project managers, sales engineers, and other engineers to design and implement new features for existing and upcoming projectsCollaborate with other developers to create network communication programs and hardware applicationsHelp produce both internal and user-facing documentation for products and applicationsWho You Are:Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Software/Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline4+ years software development experience, specifically in SCADA, VM applications, DCS, or PLC 2+ years of experience with developing and deploying ethernet based industrial networksPreferred Qualifications:Experience with GE CIMPLICITYExperience with OPC Server telecommunicationsExperience with Siemens, GE-Emerson, Allen-Bradley and Omron automation systems and hardwarePassion for building customer facing products in a diverse teamExcellent collaboration and communication skillsExcellent knowledge of software engineering best practices and associated toolsWillingness and ability to own all stages of the development process: design, testing, implementation, automation, and operational supportAbility to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the projectExperience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customersStrong problem solving and design skills with the ability to multi-taskWhat we offer: With us, there are always opportunities to break new ground.
