Provides exceptional customer service.Essential DutiesProvides individualized care and attention to each resident which encourages each resident’s ability to maintain or attain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.Follows nursing assignments according to supervisory direction. Provides the charge nurse with specific information and observations of the residents’ needs preferences and changes in condition.Attends to the individual needs of residents in a timely, professional and caring manner which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communicating, or other needs in keeping with the individual resident’s care requirements.Promptly reports potential incidents or evidence of resident abuse or violation of residents’ rights to the charge nurse or a member of the management team.Upon admissions, inventories the personal belongings of each resident including eyeglasses, dentures, hearing aids, furnishings, jewelry, clothing, memorabilia, etc. Promptly reports missing items according to established policy and participate in efforts to locate missing items.Provides care that maintains each resident’s skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears, and other damage by changing incontinent residents, turning, repositioning immobile residents, and applying moisturizers to fragile skin, etc.Answers residents’ call bells promptly and courteously. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area or to requests from residents, visitors, other personnel, etc. within given time frames and within established policy.Lifts, moves, and transport residents, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention.Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with the resident, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.Assists and escorts residents for appointments such as to rehabilitation, the beauty shop, activities, church services, etc. Participates in activities and functions as directed.Practices careful and efficient use of supplies and linens and follows established charge procedures for resident charge items.Documents all care provided to residents in CareTracker, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.Transports, monitors, serves and helps feed during meal times.Basic QualificationsExperience: A minimum of one year prior nursing assistant experience required. Long-term care experience is preferred.Education/Training: A high school diploma or equivalent; successful completion of a Pennsylvania state-approved Nursing Assistant Certification course or other education which meets state certification requirements.
