What You’ll Do: As an Asset Survey Specialist, you will be responsible for capturing data in the field related to existing conditions, existing assets, and the construction of new assets using GPS type equipment. You will have the opportunity to interact with internal Peoples construction crews and external contract construction crews and will coordinate with Logistics, Construction, and Design for job assignments. Collect onsite reference points, material, and location data for Asset Track & Traceability; measure, audit and reconcile data gathered. Utilize equipment and hardware in a safe manner and assure proper use and storage of equipment. Train and enhance skills to use all required equipment, tablets, computers, tools, SAP, Ventyx and software Produce accurate mapping of asset locations and perform, review asset captured data and work order completion status while following quality control/quality assurance procedures in the field While on location, serve as point-of-contact for Construction Supervisors, Work Group Leaders, Inspectors, and GIS and Closeout to address asset traceability issues. Provide definition, specification, design, and test, GPS and hardware deliverables. Use all necessary tools to collect all required data efficiently and accurately without causing unnecessary delays to Construction project Provide support to the Supervisor in preparation of reports, and completion of GPS As-built deliverables Daily updates to all required tracking software used within Peoples/department also in SAP (P6, BW etc.) Adhere to all field safety standards and regulations Follow all Peoples and State driving safety rules and regulations, operator vehicle safely and adhere to all required standards. Let’s talk What You’ll Bring: 1 years of experience with GIS (ESRI software) 1 years of field experience and construction site experience preferred 1 years of Experience with electronic field data collection Bachelors or Associates degree in GIS or Survey preferred Must have a valid driver’s license Working Conditions Travel approximately 90% to construction sites in Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas. Primarily working outdoors year-round. Be prepared to walk around a construction site with uneven terrain and obstacles, must wear the proper safety gear at all times; hard hat, reflective vest, eye protection, steel toe boots, etc. Be able to lift and carry equipment and related cases in excess of 25 lbs. Will require the use of tablet and computer. Be comfortable working within a construction site on public and/or private property. Visual acuity, hearing, communication, manual dexterity, and repetitive motion.
