Description/Job SummaryWe are looking for an associate paralegal to join our legal team at 84 Lumber. This person should be self-motivated, hard-working and a team player. Requirements include proficiency in WORD, Excel, Lexus/Nexus and other applicable computer skills. This individual would report directly to the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel and Senior Paralegal. Tasks would include detailed filings; drafting letters to insurance companies, customers, attorneys, contractors and manufacturers; calendaring and following up on court deadlines; legal research; reviewing documents; preparing discovery responses, etc. Ideally this person would have at least 2-3 years of paralegal experience but, at the very least, a paralegal certificate. This is not a remote position and the person would be required to be in the office in Eighty-Four, PA during office hours Monday-Friday. COVID vaccination is now required for all THQ associates.Required SkillsEssential Functions1. Drafting responses to inquiries to the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel2. Managing the schedules of General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel3. Handling travel arrangements and coordinating meetings for the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel4. Directing inquiries to other staff as needed5. Interacting directly with other senior executives6. Communicating issues to the Legal department7. Tasks such as typing, faxing, copying, filing, scanning8. Receiving and distributing mail to the Legal department9. Answering the phone in the Legal departmentCompetencies1. Excellent organization, communication and writing skills2. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook3. Good people skills4. Willing to work hard and possess a team attitude5. Respond to inquiries from internal and external sourcesRequired ExperienceBachelor’s degree from a four (4) year college or university OR an associates’ degree in business, paralegal, or some office/computer related skillset from a two (2) year college.
