Oncology Outreach Liaison – (UPMC Hillman Cancer Center/Network)

**Description**UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is currently hiring for an **Oncology Outreach Liaison** to support the Medical Oncology team.This position will work a Monday through Friday daylight schedule.

The Outreach Liaison will be working on behalf of Oncology Services at the Hillman Cancer Center and will network out in the community locations, so local travel will be required.The Liaison will provide support to programs within the Cancer Centers, with special priority to the Specialty Care Clinics, by serving as the primary external marketing liaison for these services.

This position will be responsible for the development and execution of outreach programs that target referring physicians, and the general public, with the goal of building awareness and facilitating referral patterns for Cancer Centers and Specialty Care Clinics at UPMC.The position will assist hospital and physician practice administrative and physician leadership with market research and analysis, identification of marketing opportunities, relationship-building activities with referral sources, and development of marketing tools.

The position will also assist the appropriate hospital and physician staff with the coordination of referrals from external practices into UPMC.**Responsibilities:**+ Present and provide communication in regards to knowledge of data and projects to internal and external audiences in support of Surgical Oncology Services’ mission as well as demonstrate service-oriented behavior in interactions with clients, co-workers, and other staff.+ Provide reports, databases, presentations, and track data on referring specialists in the region as required by management weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.+ Coordinate referrals from outside facilities and practices to the UPMC programs to ensure smooth and organized service to the patients, families and physicians as well as reporting to administrative and physician leadership regarding progress, outcomes, and qualitative feedback from target audiences.+ Promote Surgical Oncology Services within the regional referring geographical area by educating referring physicians about services and technologies offered, providing stellar customer service for physicians and patients by communicating with referral sources via phone,email, as well as involving local, regional, and national travel.+ Work with UPMC physicians, marketing staff, and all other available resources to develop market research and analysis, identification of marketing opportunities, relationship development with referral sources, and development of marketing tools that are creative, well organized, concise, and stylistically appropriate to the audience and purpose.+ Schedule and coordinate lectures, CMEs, screenings, conferences, and other special events involving local, regional, and national travel.+ Assist with planning, researching, writing, editing copy of letters, newsletters, brochures, marketing communications, and other projects as assigned.+ Project management of varying levels of complexity and sophistication to include prioritizing, delivering, and multi-tasking of projects within time and budget.+ Participate in the development of department policies and procedures with management based on quality improvement initiatives.+ Develop a strong understanding of reimbursement and insurance trends regarding Surgical Oncology Services as a way to increase referrals into the programs as well as keeping abreast of the health care industry, regional and local news.**Qualifications**+ Bachelors degree in related field required.+ 3 years experience in the Oncology field preferred.+ 3 years Nursing or Pharmacological Sales background required.+ Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain credibility in the market place.+ Excellent written, oral, organizational, analytical and presentation skills**Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:****UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran** REQNUMBER: 001526556
