Responsibilities

Who are we looking for?

Strategic Leadership

  • Accountable for proposing and delivering on the agreed to overall architecture
  • Own the quality, scalability, security, and performance of applications, systems, and integrations
  • Identify process efficiency opportunities
  • Define and lead the deployment of best practices including security health within the software organization
  • Identify, analyze, and remove development constraints and barriers to velocity
  • Provide technical consultation as well as expertise to Product Management
  • Contribute thought leadership through understanding the latest technology trends like emerging standards for fresh technology opportunities
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to enable business value creation, as well as the stability and scalability of our solutions
  • Utilize appropriate and aligned Agile methodology and principles to ensure changes identified from retrospectives are implemented
  • Provide leadership, management, and technical vision to entire engineering team
  • Measure team performance / productivity
  • Instill a mindset of curiosity and continuous improvement within team, with a goal to drive faster speed to market at a lower cost
  • Recommend optimal staffing approach to accomplish strategic and tactical goals (direct and/or contingent workforce strategies)
  • Hire, coach, and mentor software engineering/development managers and team members to optimize talent and development efficiencies and operate as a high-performing team
  • Evaluate software development team members through performance reviews and 360s, whereas ratings evaluate performance as it pertains to project outcomes and company core values
  • Assist software development team to attain optimal team performance through removing technical obstacles
  • Serve as a resource to leadership team; provide expert counsel and direction with regards to removing organizational constraints that impede development

Tactical Accountabilities

  • Facilitate agile teamwork by ensuring SDLC process execution
  • Accountability to ensure the software team takes ownership in leading the analysis, design, development and support all software application systems
  • Accountability to support the software development team in the deployment process
  • Ensures accountability for ISO, SOC-2, and quality control activities that operate under their direct supervision, as well as all other certification activities

Qualifications

What will you need?

  • Bachelor’s degree in, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Masters in Engineering and/or MBA Preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ software development experience
  • 5+ years developing and managing software development managers and developers
  • 5+ years leading with embedded components.
  • A proven record of scaling engineering teams and systems
  • Proven experience SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) specifically with embedded software/hardware and web application software
  • Ability to balance managing tactical delivery and strategy development
  • Experience in a fast paced, Agile, continuous integration environment
