DevOps Engineer

Tyndale is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to work closely with our custom development, QA, and infrastructure teams to ensure Tyndale’s continued success as we grow, in addition to ensuring the timely and accurate deployment of custom software.**Partially Remote: Candidates must be within a commutable distance to Pipersville, PA**?Responsibilities:? The key accountability of this position is to facilitate the flow of custom development work from development through QA and into production reliably and efficiently;o Ensure internal and external end users can access and use the applications that they need;o Ensure a smooth transition of development work to production;o Work with developers and QA to ensure they have the tools they need;? Work with Dev and QA as needed to deploy Tyndale applications to production, QA, test, and development environments as needed, including troubleshooting the environments;? Assist QA and the development team with troubleshooting custom application errors;? Assist the infrastructure team with research and implementation of any new services to enhance the functioning of our custom applications and the infrastructure that runs them;? Perform off-hours maintenance and upgrades as deemed necessary;? Perform the above tasks using self-guided research and act to resolve problems as needed without direct supervision;? Assist in infrastructure and development projects and other tasks as assigned by IT management.Qualifications:Experience? 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience preferred;? Self-motivated dedicated to self-learning – the ability and desire to dive into new technologies to keep Tyndale at the cutting edge of technology;? Detail and task-oriented;? Proactive in identifying problems and determining appropriate solutions;? Strong communications skills in regards to dealing with end users and vendors.Education and Training? Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent technical training preferred;? Technical certifications on relevant systems preferred.Technical Skills? Knowledge of and experience with scripting languages (such as PowerShell, BASH, Python, Perl);? Knowledge of and experience with source control systems required (such as Subversion, Git, TFS);? Knowledge of and experience with CI/CD tools required (such as Jenkins, Octopus Deploy, Bamboo);? Knowledge of and experience with .Net framework required (C#, ASP.Net);? Knowledge of and experience with infrastructure automation tool preferred (such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible);? Knowledge of and experience with one or more Amazon cloud services (S3, CloudFront, Glacier, etc.) preferred;? Experience with some form of software configuration management or methodology of software deployments required;? Knowledge of and experience with VMware or virtualization preferred;? Basic network skills preferred: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Ethernet switching, basic routing;?
