Closing Machine Operator

Canning Plant / Production Department

We are currently seeking and individual to fill the position of Closing Machine Operator in our Canning Facility located in Hanover Pa. This position is responsible for operating an assigned production line in accordance with guidelines established by Management in a safe and productive manner, while maintaining predetermined quality standards. Good communication and basic math skills are required.

● Start and stops closing machine as required insuring continuity of operation.

● Feeds lids into magazine of capper as required and inspects lids when necessary.

● Checks for properly filled and sealed containers.

● Responsible for physically lifting up to 40 pounds as required.

● Keeps area clean in accordance with good housekeeping practices.

● Adheres to common safety practices or rules including the wearing of protective equipment as required.

● Adheres to our plant hygiene standards to insure high product integrity.

● Should not leave work area unless given permission by Supervisor or Leadsperson.

● Responsible for execution of food safety, legality and quality policies and procedures within the

● Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Leadsperson.
