Medical Receptionist- Oxford Valley Cardiology

This is a Contract position in Oxford Valley, PA posted July 15, 2021.

Responsibilities $500 sign on bonus with 12 month commitment*  Full time days, 40 hours per week  Works under general supervision of the Office Manager to courteously and professionally process patients into the office for their medical visits.  Answer telephones, schedule all appointments, and perform general business functions as assigned.   Greet patients, create a friendly helpful contact and monitor waiting time prior to medical appointment. Schedule and verify medical appointments, process paper work for appointment and direct patients as appropriate. Interface with administrative and medical assistant personnel to ensure medical record is available for each patient’s appointment.        Ensure all medical records contain necessary forms for medical appointments and deliver medical record to the physician. Collect fee-for-service and co-payments and past balances due from patients and process charge tickets. Obtain and/or distribute patient information as needed to include signature, completion of forms, surveys, etc. Answer telephones and direct patient inquiries as needed. Prepare final accounting of assigned cash drawer. Expedite emergency medical cases as need. Answer telephones, route calls to appropriate staff, takes accurate telephone messages, and relays messages to staff. Schedule appointments and records specific information required for each. Enters the data collected into computer or forms, and initiates patient Medical Record (Chart). Upon greeting each patient, check all demographic data including; insurance, address, and other pertinent information. Enter information on computer screens or forms as necessary. Prepare billing information, assist in completing claims forms, and answer patient questions about payment status. Prepare referrals in accordance with managed care insurer requirements. May enter charges into billing system. Other duties as assigned.  Qualifications Education: High School diploma or equivalent.Experience: Up to six months of previous receptionist or general office experience. Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills. Good telephone skills. Ability to pay close attention to detail and work in fast paced environment.
